ways to PLAY

There are many ways to play the compassion games.  It can be as simple as lending a hand to a stranger to volunteering to paint a house to joining an organized service projects or making up your own game.  The point is that you perform acts of compassion (whether for self, others, the environment, or a whole community) and then report and share these acts on the Compassion Map.   Below are some suggested games.  We invite you to promote your game by joining Compassionate Nashville on Facebook and Compassionate Nashville Events group.  To see a list of events to participate in please see our Compassion Games Events Page.  If you would like us to submit your game to our website please contact us.

Random Acts
of kindness

Random Acts of Kindness are selfless acts performed by a person or a group of people wishing to help others. Those who play this game will learn about kindness and compassion by practicing it. You can perform random acts of compassion for those you know, those unknown, for the earth, or for yourself. Distinct from Service Projects these acts can be spontaneous.  Visit the Gallery of Compassionate Action to learn more and get an overview of possible actions you may perform.
Points are earned by tracking the # of Random Acts you do between 9/11 and 9/21 and then report the highlights of your experience of playing this game on the Compassion Map.

COMPASSION RELAYS

Welcome to the Compassion Relays!

The Compassion Relays connect the world with compassion. As we pass the Compassion Torch, we spread the light of compassion, inspiring and sharing the power of compassionate action in everyday life.

To participate in a Compassion Relay means you are willing to receive, carry and pass on the Compassion Torch.

To carry the Compassion Torch means that for one week, on each day, you write down or capture through any medium (art, music, photo, video, etc.) one thought or action that shows compassion in your own daily life.

SECRET AGENTS OF COMPASSSION
Picture
SECRET AGENTS OF COMPASSIONis signing up to get a secret mission a day between 9/11-9/21 and using your creativity to fulfill your mission and then reporting your story on the Compassion Map.
Secret Agent of CompassionYour mission should you choose to accept it….You are just who we need.  Are you ready to become a Secret Agent of Compassion?  Join the International Kindness Team (IKT) and prepare to make the world a better place one act of kindness at a time.  Anyone can join and there are two ways for you to play:

First, IKT Director Andy Smallman will be sending daily mission briefings to all Secret Agents with inspirations for compassionate action.  Use your creativity and adaptability to find ways to fulfill your mission.  No kind act is too small to have a huge impact!  Your mission briefings will help you practice an attitude of compassion, and discover that even the simple actions of Secret Agents can be profoundly world changing.

Second, Secret Agents can acknowledge and tell the stories of the daily acts of kindness of others in their lives.  Identify and connect with other Secret Agents in the field when you are on the receiving end of their successful missions.  Use our compassionate Thank You cards or your own creations to let them know how awesome they are and invite them into the game if they’re not already an Agent.  Report back to headquarters using the Compassion Map to share the stories of those who made your day through their kind acts.
